It is the first five star hotel in Jakarta and because of its history has been declared as national heritage by the local government. History

Hotel Indonesia
The site of the current Grand Indonesia was previously occupied by Hotel Indonesia and Hotel Inna Wisata. Hotel Indonesia was the first five star hotel in the archipelago. It offered international standards and through its sophistication created recognition amongst other leading hotels worldwide. The building development was initiated by the first president of an independent Indonesia, President Soekarno, who was also an architect.

Grand Indonesia is a premium mixed-used property development located in the heart of Jakarta. The complex spans over 7ha of land and consists of the completely remodelled Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta, the prestigious 59-storey Kempinski Private Residences, Jakarta's tallest premium-grade office tower - Menara BCA and the luxurious Grand Indonesia Shopping Town.
